Young German producer Stimming has been getting plenty of attention with his maverick approach to house and techno culminating in a series of classic tracks for the DIYnamic label. Here on Freerange, ‘Short Story’ is a crafted organic slice of minimal house - powerful, controlled and very heavy. ‘Die Schatulle’ showcases Stimming’s emotive chord work and programming genius. Finally, another current producer and Oslo label boss Federico Molinari remixes ‘Die Schatulle’ and strips the whole thing back to basics and gets a ridiculously deep and funky groove on.
